Velocity flight points-earn

You can earn Velocity points flying with Virgin Australia and the popular carrier’s international partners. The Velocity points earn-rate is generally dependent on the cost of your flight. Velocity points can only be earned when you pay for your fare with cash or credit/debit card (you will not earn points or status credits when redeeming your points for flights).

Velocity offers a range of additional perks when you earn status credits. Although we outline some of the major status credit information in this guide, refer to our dedicated Velocity status guide for a full wrap.

Your Velocity points earn-rate will receive a boost depending on your status on all Virgin Australia flights and selected international partners.

A note about Tigerair flights

Unlike Qantas and Jetstar, you cannot earn Velocity points and status credits flying on Virgin’s budget subsidiary, Tigerair. However, you can redeem points for Tigerair flights and bundles on tigerair.com.au. Find out more here.
