Overview

Fancy Sydney to Los Angeles return for $600 (save $400)? How about long-haul to London in a premium cabin for a touch over the Economy fare (save $1,200)?

A largely unknown (but valuable) Australian flight benefit is AIA Vitality’s Qantas cash-back offer, which is available on both domestic and international flights.

Flight discounts over 10% are dependent on your AIA Vitality status level and the completion of a simple health check, however it’s quite easy to tick these off.  For example, by simply recording your steps every day via your smartphone, you’ll receive a 40% Qantas discount on two bookings annually. You’ll also receive over $200 in gift cards!

The benefit includes sale fares (including major promotional fares) up to Premium Economy, which represents great value. And, because you’re booking with cash at the full rate, you’ll earn Qantas points and status credits at a potentially massive discount!

About AIA Vitality

AIA Vitality membership, which comes bundled with many insurance products, is suited to those that are a) already somewhat fit and healthy or b) keen to at least moderately improve their health. This is because the program is structured to reward certain activities, such as annual health check-ups (GP, optometrist, dental), exercise (daily step-targets, gym visits etc.) and the completion of brief online assessments (e.g. nutrition, mental health).

But don’t be intimidated, many of these, including the requirement for a lucrative flight benefit, are easier than you might think! Simply recording your steps every day via your smartphone and completing a simple health check gets you well on the way to a whopping 40% Qantas discount on two bookings annually. You’ll also receive over $200 in gift cards!

Many of AIA Vitality’s wide-ranging benefits don’t ever require any activity. For example, you can score half-price premium gym membership (e.g. Virgin Active or Fitness First) just by joining the program. Discounts at these premium gyms are difficult to obtain anywhere else!

AIA Vitality rewards you for staying healthy!

Find out more about the program’s benefits below with more on the flight benefit here.

Joining AIA Vitality for the Qantas benefit

AIA Vitality comes bundled with eligible life and income-protect insurance policies, which are available Australia-wide through the RAC or RACQ. Some flyerpoints.com.au writers hold eligible income insurance products and simply slide the coverage down to the lowest level, which starts at $8 per fortnight.

AIA Vitality can only be sold via an accredited financial adviser or via the RAC or RACQ. Learn more here.

  • Discounted movie tickets and other partner benefits
  • Major gym discounts at Virgin Active (50% off), Fitness First (50% off) and Anytime Fitness ($100 cash-back per quarter)

Learn more about each benefit on the AIA Vitality website.

AIA Vitality Qantas flight benefit rules & conditions

The AIA Vitality Qantas offer is great in that all domestic and international tickets on flights booked on the Red Roo’s website are eligible. Online and traditional travel agent bookings are not eligible.

Cash back is valid for Economy and Premium Economy seats only, and include all Qantas sale pricing! Flights must begin from, or return to Australia, with both one-way and return trips eligible. Multi-city bookings are not eligible, however indirect or ‘layover’ bookings are. Your flight must be in your name.

Bookings submitted without the AIA Vitality Health Check will only attract a 10% cash-back, as will any other Qantas flights beyond your initial 2 cash-back bookings.

The following exclusions apply:

  • Multi-City and Round the World flights are excluded (indirect or ‘layover’ bookings are eligible)
  • Bookings may include up to eight passengers, however no discounts will be applied to passengers
